this is a highly rare and specialized maximum card (tarjeta maxima) from the former spanish colony of ifni, created on an antique real photo postcard (rppc) featuring a jellyfish under water.
the front showcases the beautiful monochrome photographic depiction. it is franked with the matching blue 5+5 centimos "correos ifni" stamp issued for the "dia del sello colonial 1953", which depicts sea life, including a fish and a matching jellyfish. the stamp is officially cancelled with a crisp, circular town postmark from the capital inscribed "sidi ifni" dated february 22, 1958 (22.feb.58.12m.).
the back of the postcard features a unique dual franking where an additional orange 5 centimos "correos ifni" stamp from the 1954 colonial stamp day series (depicting a seagull) is physically glued to the top left corner. it is cancelled with the exact same circular sidi ifni postmark from february 22, 1958. card published by ediciones "foto-6" san esteban, 21 - olot (gerona).
