Ernst Kutzer: Salzburg Protestants Expulsion 1731 Freie Schule (Vintage Artist PC 1910s)

vintage illustrated artist postcard painted by the famous austrian illustrator ernst kutzer, titled auszug der aus salzburg vertriebenen protestanten im jahre 1731 (expulsion of the banished protestants from salzburg in the year 1731). the front features a historical scene within a decorative dotted border showing a group of families, including a priest, women, and children, fleeing with a covered wagon. the background displays the hohensalzburg fortress on a hill overlooking the city.
the reverse side features an unused divided back layout published by the association verein freie schule, head office in vienna (wien viii, albertgasse 23). it is part of a series titled im zeichen der religion (zehn künstlerpostkarten), marked as card number 10 (nr. 10). the back contains explanatory text about archbishop firmian expelling 30,000 protestants from salzburg in 1731.
