operated by the société générale de transports maritimes à vapeur (s.g.t.m.) on their marseille–south america line.

the ship is shown underway with black smoke from her twin funnels, flag at the stern, and a small pilot/tender boat alongside the bow.

the florida entered service in 1926; she was later involved in a 1931 collision with the british aircraft carrier hms glorious off gibraltar.
