antique carte de visite (cdv) photograph from the 1860s showing a young boy standing beside an ornately carved side table used as studio prop.

the boy wears a fitted buttoned jacket with a bow tie, knee breeches, lace-up boots, and a distinctive cap topped with a feather or cockade, giving the outfit a slightly military inspired look for the period. he is posed standing on a small studio platform, one hand resting on the carved table.

albumen print mounted on period card stock in the standard cdv format.

the reverse of the card is blank, no photographer stamp or studio mark. overall condition is good for its age, with light corner wear and a small bend to the upper left corner of the mount, some minor surface spotting consistent with albumen prints of this era, image itself is clear and well contrasted. a charming piece of victorian childhood fashion and studio photography, would suit collectors of cdv portraits, children's fashion history, or studio furniture and props.
