pola croatia scoglio olivi vintage postcard 1918 – franked with pair of "regno d'italia venezia giulia 3.xi.18" overprint stamps on austrian issue, used during the italian occupation of istria at the end of wwi.

postmarked venezia ferrovia (railway post) 3.xii.1918. handwritten message dated 29.xi.918.

addressed to colonnello d'artiglieria filippo sacroix, comando artiglieria, ix corpo d'armata, zona guerra (war zone).

interesting transitional piece combining a former austro-hungarian naval port view with early italian occupation postage, sent directly to a military field address.

size: ~ 9 x 14 cm (1 cm ~ 0.39 inch)
