beautiful vintage art nouveau lithograph postcard titled "les pyramides" showing a scenic sunset view of the giza pyramids across the nile river with camels. the left side features an elegant illustration of an egyptian woman carrying a water jug on her head. published as no. 14 by ediz. artistica richter & c., napoli.
the front contains a brief handwritten message in german ink script addressed to "liebe tilly!".
the reverse is a postally used "union postale universelle" carte postale addressed to altona, germany. it features two green egyptian stamps cancelled with a bold circular "port-said" postmark. it also displays a very clear, prominent black arrival stamp from "altona 1 (elbe)" dated january 19, 1902.
