Leal Senado / Macau Macao: Square WWI Military Censor Stamp To Mallorca (Vintage PC 1918)

exceptionally rare antique illustrated postcard from the portuguese colonial era of macau macao sent to palma de mallorca spain during world war i.

the front side shows the iconic leal senado loyal senate building with a horse carriage.

the card features a remarkable wartime postal history journey.

it was cancelled in macau on april 18 1918 using the rare diamond shaped postmark reading correio central macau.

it arrived in spain on july 14 1918 as proven by the circular arrival postmark palma de mallorca on the reverse side.

due to the ongoing war the reverse side features two highly collectible spanish wartime military censorship marks including the large circular stamp reading pasado por la censura militar de palma and the smaller cen censor stamp. it is addressed to the prominent postcard collector mr miguel vila on mallorca with his handwritten receipt note dated 17-iv-1918.
