detailed description

this elegant large-format vintage photograph documents the refined royal heritage of spain. it features one of the magnificent, ornamental stone benches located in the jardín de la isla at the royal site of aranjuez. designed by the celebrated royal architect francesco sabatini during the 18th-century bourbon reforms, the bench showcases a masterfully sculpted backrest adorned with a heavy stone floral garland and a central floral vase finial. the structural pilasters are crowned with detailed carved pinecones (piñas de piedra), and a faint historical graffiti inscription (likely dating to the early 20th century) is visible etched into the right-hand panel.

expertly developed in madrid by estudio amer, this exhibition-sized print captures the tactical stone textures and classical symmetry against a dark, velvety wooded background. printed on the highly prized kodak brtf paper stock, it maintains rich grayscale transitions. a premier collectible for historians of royal garden design, neoclassical european architecture, and mid-century fine art photography.
