vintage color printed lithograph postcard showing a beautiful artistic panoramic view of the alpine resort town of reichenhall (now bad reichenhall) in bavaria, germany. the front depicts a scenic landscape painting with a local resident leading a small herd of goats down a dirt path in the foreground. to the left, a lady with a prominent red parasol umbrella is seen walking on a parallel trail. the historic town with its church steeples and factory chimneys is visible in the valley center, framed by the majestic snow-capped peaks of the alpine mountains in the background. the lower left margin contains the series credit line serie 1. 11. verlag von wezel und naumann, leipzig.
the back of the postcard is unused (unposted) and features an early undivided back design (vorläuferkarte) typical for the late 1890s and turn of the century. it contains the prominent calligraphic header postkarte alongside lines for the recipient name, city, and street address (an, in, wohnung).
