this is an official spanish maximum card (tarjeta maxima) created on an antique real photo postcard (rppc). it features a traditional bullfighting scene showing a banderillero placing the banderillas into the bull.
the front showcases an artistic monochrome photographic depiction published by palomeque madrid. the card is franked with the matching 70 centimos "correos españa" stamp from the corrida de toros series, which replicates the exact same motif.
it is officially cancelled with a special first day of issue cancellation stamp (primer dia de emision) from madrid, dated february 29, 1960 (29.feb.60), a rare leap year date.
the back of the postcard is unused, unwritten, and shows the official purple publisher mark "palomeque madrid" on the left edge. it has minor traces of ink transfer from the cancellation process on the front, which is normal for maximum cards of this era.
