San Sebastian / Spain: Buen Pastor Cathedral Street Scene Train Incident (Vintage PC 1910)

vintage postcard showing a lively historic street scene in san sebastian (donostia), spain, titled "7 - san-sebastian - calle de san-ignacio de loyola y buen pastor". the view features local citizens walking, shops like a "drogueria y perfumeria", and the magnificent buen pastor cathedral dominating the background. published by l. bosq, edit., bordeaux.
the front has a small neat handwritten date "13/4 1910" near the church spire.
the reverse is postally used as a "union postal universal" card sent to bordeaux, france. it features a red 10-centimos spanish stamp cancelled with a clear "san sebastian" postmark dated april 13, 1910.
the back contains an incredible, extensive handwritten message in german ink script describing a dramatic train journey to the city, including a wagon fire and an emergency braking inside a tunnel.

"san sebastian, 13/4 1910.
vielen dank für l. karte. heute abend hier glücklich gelandet. vorgestern war vitoria - gestern pamplona - von letzterem punkte nach hier interessante zwischenfälle gehabt - zuerst in brand geraten der waggon wo mein weingtheil (reisetheil) saß, dann notbremse mitten in einem tunnel - hatte in real eine bessere geschichte miterlebt. freitag oder samstag telegraphiere dir. komme soeben aus dem theater, sitze jetzt bei einem echten münchner bei ... karl rutz."
