Pfäffikon Zürich / Switzerland: Gasthof Zum Hecht - Lake (Vintage PC 1903)

vintage chromolithograph postcard from 1903, titled "Pfäffikon (Zürich)", published by the Landwirthschaftlichen Verein (No. 5463).

The front shows a colorful, idyllic view of Lake Pfäffikon with numerous rowing boats and the village church in the background. The lower left inset depicts the historic "Gasthof zum Hecht" with horse-drawn carriages out front. Interestingly, the handwritten ink message on the front (dated Jan 26, 1903) notes that the sender just ice-skated across the frozen lake.

The back of the card is fully intact and highly collectible. It features a complete and clean Swiss 10 Centimes "Standing Helvetia" stamp, canceled with an Uster circular date stamp (25.I.03). It also features a perfect German arrival postmark from Stuttgart 1 dated 26.1.03. An outstanding piece for postal history and regional collectors. Please see the high-resolution scans for details.
