original vintage postcard - no reprint!
collectible vintage advertising postcard from 1903, published as part of the official Nestlé corporate promotional campaign (marked "Série H. Nestlé, Vevey No. 15" on the back).
The front shows a black-and-white photograph of a Swiss herdsman with his cows in an alpine landscape, featuring printed Russian text advertising Nestlé's famous baby milk food formula ("Farine Lactée").
The front has contemporary handwritten German text in ink.
The back is an outstanding piece of postal history, showing a fully intact international usage from the Russian Empire to Switzerland. It features two green Russian 2-Kopeck stamps with the Imperial double-headed eagle, canceled with clear St. Petersburg (C.ПЕТЕРБУРГЪ) circular date stamps from April 12, 1903. It also features a rectangular St. Petersburg railway/station postmark dated April 13, 1903, and a clear Swiss arrival postmark from Zürich 9 dated 25.IV.03. Perfect item for collectors of advertising memorabilia, Nestlé history, or Imperial Russian postal history.
