beautiful and highly collectible vintage lithograph art postcard showcasing the famous wine village of escherndorf am main, part of volkach in the franconia region of bavaria, germany.
the front features a wonderful original stone drawing (originalsteinzeichnung) by the artist wilhelm greiner, signed with his initials wg. it depicts local vintners or farmers working on the steep vineyard hillsides in the foreground, with the historic village houses, the prominent church tower of st. john the baptist, and the winding main river valley stretching into the background. the lower left corner features the stylized town title escherndorf a/m.
the reverse side features a divided back with the publisher imprint: frankenwarte-verlag würzburg - serie ii: weinorte frankens - originalsteinzeichnungen von wilhelm greiner. it also includes the small artistic publisher logo at the bottom.
