a straits settlements 4 cent stamp is affixed to the picture side.

the reverse carries a handwritten message from khoo kim leng of penang to mr miguel vila, 9 fiol, palma de mallorca, balearic islands, spain, a known postcard and stamp collector.

the message discusses exchanging postcards and stamps between the two collectors, a common pastime among philatelic and deltiology hobbyists in the early 20th century. printed by k. m. mahmod esoof, penang, no. 3046.
