postcard no. 9 from the scheut missions series, titled "missiën van scheut - philippijnen. hut der ifugaos. weefsters" (hut of the ifugao, weavers), showing a distinctive mushroom-shaped ifugao rice granary hut on stilts with a steep thatched roof, several people weaving beneath and beside it. the ifugao are a well-known indigenous highland people of the cordillera region of northern luzon, famed for their rice terraces at banaue.
published by n.e.l.s. for the scheut missions (cicm - congregatio immaculati cordis mariae), a belgian catholic missionary congregation active in the philippines. marked "philippijnen - eigendom van scheut" on reverse.
