antique color lithograph propaganda postcard from the 1920s illustrating the rif war in morocco by french artist NERI
titled la guerre au maroc.
back side is an official maroccan postcard layout printed by the famous photo flandrin 128 rue de aviation casablanca.
the card features a highly unique handwritten spanish poem from the war era signed by juan noguera warning about the dangers of local insurgent traps.
text reads:
si alguna morita
parere quererte
ten mucho cuidado
que es para perderte.
te lleva a su cabila
diciendo te quiero
y alli los piratas
t. acen prisionero.
in english:
If a little Moroccan girl (morita) seems to love you, be very careful, for it will be your downfall. She will take you to her tribe (cabila), say "I love you," and there the pirates will capture you.
overall good vintage condition with an incredible historic text document on the back.
