handwritten message on the front dated 24 october 1896 (undivided back era).

reverse bears the purple oval hotel cachet "hôtel suisse - schweizerhof - milan", a well known milan hotel of the period.

franked with an italian 10 centesimi umberto i stamp, postmarked milan, with stuttgart arrival postmark. sent to fräulein johanna, stuttgart, germany.
