Rare 1910s Hamburg Art & Craft School RPPC - Wilhelm Schütze Malerschule
Spectacular Large Trade Group Portrait with Ornate Printed School Vignette Stamp
Up for auction is a highly important, fully documented genuine Real Photo Postcard (RPPC) from the 1910s, capturing a massive group portrait of the **"Wilhelm Schütze Malerschule" (Painting and Decorating Academy) in Hamburg, Germany**.
beautiful, crystal-clear group shot of over 40 students, journeymen, and master craftsmen. What initially resemble laboratory coats are actually the traditional white painters' smocks worn by the apprentices. The background features the grand, historical guild coat of arms (Zunftwappen) for the German painters' trade.
reverse: features an incredible, highly decorative Art Nouveau (Jugendstil) printed advertising vignette stamp in golden-orange: "Wilh. Schutze Maler Schule Hamburg".
please note: Wilhelm Schütze’s academy was a vital stepping stone for many noted early 20th-century German artists and master decorators. Clean photographic postcards showing the entire student body and staff—especially complete with the official school stamp—are exceptionally rare.
