Prussia: Kaiser Wilhelm II Friedrich I Bicentennial 1701-1901 (Vintage RPPC 1901)

historical commemorative real photo postcard rppc from the german empire issued for the bicentennial of the kingdom of prussia 1701 to 1901.

the front side features real photographic portraits of kaiser wilhelm ii and king friedrich i under a royal crown with embossed decorative borders and the text zur erinnerung an die zweijahrhundert feier des koenigreichs preussen. there is a handwritten short greeting on the bottom right of the front.

the reverse side features a 5 pfennig green germania stamp cancelled with a clear postmark from harburg elbe dated january 18 1901. this is the exact historic anniversary day of the crowning.

the card is addressed in kurrent script to a schoolteacher in bremen and features an arrival postmark from bremen on the same day 18 1 01.
